What's silica gel canister?
Silica gel desiccant canisters are small cylindrical containers filled with white type A silica gel beads that can be inserted at high rates of speed into pharmaceutical bottles and have become the gold standard of pharmaceutical desiccants.
Their special design allows them to be used in standard insertion equipment and continuously fed into pharmaceutical packaging lines. It has become more and more popular in the pharmaceutical packaging industry.
Why need the silica gel canister?
Moisture and oxygen can affect the chemical or physical stability of pharmaceutical products, even within plastic containers, tablets and pills are exposed to moisture and oxygen that can permeate the package from the outside environment. So, the silica gel canister is used for absorbing the moisture in the sealed environment to ensure the quality of pharmaceutical products and extend their shelf life.
Is it safe for pharmaceutical packaging?
